Photometers

Macam manufacture a range of portable and desktop photometers, from the simple to use but highly accurate L201 illuminance / Lux meter, to specialist systems such as the luminous flux and spot measuring photometers.

The latest ranges; L201, L202 and L203 series, all feature micro-processor control coupled with our latest detector amplifier technology providing both low noise and high sensitivity measurements.

All Macam photometers have a high accuracy photopic filter and cosine-corrected diffuser assembly for precise and reliable measurements. During manufacture and calibration each photopic filter is spectrally scanned to ensure that the optimum response is achieved.

L201 Illuminance Photometer

The L201 illuminance photometer offers lower cost combined with a Macam high accuracy photopic illuminance detector.

The operating range of 0 to 19,999 Lux makes the L201 suitable for most indoor office and industrial lighting applications.

Other measurement ranges are available including calibration in footcandles.

L202 Illuminance & Luminance Photometer

The hugely popular Macam L202 digital radiometer is designed for accurate measurement of illuminance and screen luminance at low cost and has been utilised extensively by medical systems engineers worldwide.

With simple, straightforward functions and designed with the user in mind, operations such as the automatic sensing and calibration of the chosen detector head mean that the meter has application into any area requiring reliable, affordable, easy measurement.

L203 Illuminance & Luminance Photometer

The L203 photometer is supplied with accessories for both luminance and illuminance measurements. With the large measurement range of 0.001 to 199 990 the photometer is suited for many applications including emergency / escape route lighting.

Key features include auto or manual ranging, backlight LCD display, switching between Lux and footcandle or cd/m² and footLambert, RS232 interface, averaging and integration, minimum and maximum values.

Luminous Flux Photometer

The luminous flux photometric system comprises of a L203 or L300 series photometer with an integrating and photopic detector.

Applications for luminous flux measurements include automotive and miniature lamps, LEDs and light guided sources such as microscope and endoscope illuminators.

Macam also manufacture large integrating spheres for efficiency and quality control measurements on domestic lamps.

Spot Measuring Accessory

Applications requiring luminance measurements on small areas, small sources or distant sources require the addition of the spot measuring accessory fitted to the photometer's photopic detector.

The SMU203 has a choice of 25mm 50mm and 100mm 'C' mount lenses and extension tubes giving a variety of spot sizes and fields of view.

L300 Laboratory Photometer

The L300 series was designed by Macam for applications requiring frequent or continuous measurements at a fixed location. It has been superceded by the L203 photometer.

Macam offers a full calibration and repair service for this photometer.

L103 Photometer

This photometer was produced by Macam prior to January 1999 and has now been replaced with the L201, L202 and L203 series photometers. The photometer had a six range manual switched amplifier with full scale readings from 1.999 Lux or cd/m² up to 199 900 Lux or cd/m².

L101 Photometer

The L101 photometer was specially produced to measure illuminance and CRT luminance. It has now been superceded by the L202 luminance & illuminance photometer.
